The studio
nightbuilds is an indie game studio founded in 2026 by Pierre Trochet, a solo developer based in France. It makes small, colorful puzzle games for phones: short sessions, playable with one hand, understood in ten seconds.
Jellies on the Run is its first game. Two more follow: Jewel Box and Hive Queens.
Jellies on the Run
Slide, sort, beat the heat!
The sun is out and the jellies are melting! Slide each one to the gate of its color before it’s too late. Quick, cute, and trickier than it looks.

The game in short
- Drag a jelly and it slides until something blocks it. Each one leaves through the gate of its color, and they get in each other’s way: the order matters.
- The sun is the opponent: jellies in the sun heat up and melt, those in the shade last longer.
- Levels under a minute, three stars to earn, best times to beat.
- Six worlds of twenty levels, each with its own scenery, character and music, then endless levels.
- Something new every few levels: odd-shaped boxes, jellies stuck in ice, two-layer jellies, mystery crates, and three boosters (ice cubes, spoon, ladle).
- Color-blind symbols, haptics, playable with one hand.
- Hand-built without an off-the-shelf game engine: the game and its engine are written in JavaScript.

Jewel Box
Sort gems, fill every box
Every level is a jewelled object held together by gems. Tap them out in the right order, fill each box with three of a color, and the object comes apart piece by piece. A calm puzzle with no timer.

Jewel Box in short
- Tap a gem and it flies to the box of its color, or waits on a small tray if no such box is open. Three of a kind close the box.
- Pieces overlap: a piece with no gems left drops away and reveals what it was hiding. The order matters, and a full tray ends the run.
- 300 different objects to take apart, one per level: jewels, animals, treats, instruments, monuments.
- Fifteen worlds of twenty levels, each with its own jewelled scenery and music, and a big, tricky object to close it.
- New twists along the way: mystery gems, padlocks with a key to find, chained gems, and three boosters (extra slot, spare tray, hammer).
- No timer, three stars to earn, color-blind symbols, playable with one hand.
- Hand-built like Jellies on the Run: the game, its engine and the solver that guarantees every level are written in JavaScript.

Hive Queens
One rule, pure logic
One queen bee in every row, every column and every color zone, and never two side by side. Every grid has a single solution you can reach by pure logic: no lives, no timer, no guessing.

Hive Queens in short
- A single rule: one queen per row, per column and per color zone, and two queens never touch, not even diagonally.
- Tap a cell to cross it out, tap again to place a queen; her row, her column, her zone and her neighbors are crossed out for you.
- Every grid has a single solution and never needs a guess: the game checks it with its own solver, which reasons the way a player does.
- 1,000 hand-picked levels, from tiny 4 × 4 grids up to 10 × 10, then endless levels made by the game.
- A daily puzzle sized to the player’s level, with a streak of days to keep alive.
- A hint that plays the next move and explains the reasoning, and a check button that tells you whether everything is right so far.
- No lives, no timer, three stars to earn, six apiary sceneries along the way, playable with one hand.
- Hand-built like the two other games: the game, its engine and its solver are written in JavaScript.
